LODGING

Our first ranch brochure advertised the Kay El Bar as “a real Western ranch with modern accommodations for a limited number of guests.” By 1931, the dining room, swimming pool and La Casa de Rosita were built; and today our inviting quarters can hold approximately 25 guests. Comfortable and charming, each Lodge Room has a private modern bath, hand-painted Monterey furniture and a collection of western artwork.

In addition, there is the Homestead House, which was built in the early 1900s and served as dude ranch headquarters when the Kay El Bar was a cattle ranch. Today it retains the original thick-walled adobe ranch style and is a two-bedroom, two-bath casita. Spacious and comfortable, with its own living room and fireplace, it’s perfect for families, two couples or small groups. It can sleep up to seven people.

Guests can also choose the casita tucked away under towering salt cedar and eucalyptus trees. The spacious Casa Grande has a sitting area and fireplace. It can accommodate up to four guests.
